West Indies Naval Campaign Medal

The West Indies Naval Campaign Medal, also known as the Sampson Medal, is awarded to members of the US Navy and Marine Corps who served aboard certain ships that took part in naval operations in the West Indies from April 27 to August 14, 1898. The top suspension bar had the name of the recipient's ship. Forty-seven different engagement bars were authorized to be worn on the ribbon.

This decoration was authorized in March 3, 1901.
