TheAir Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal is awarded for exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity during a four year period while serving in an enlisted status in the US Air Reserve Forces (Air Force Reserve).

This decoration was originally authorized as a bar in April 1964 and later changes to a medal in May 1973.
