Medal for Humane Action

The Medal for Humane Action was awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States assigned to the Berlin Airlift for 120 or more days during the period of June 26, 1948 and September 30, 1949. This medal was also awarded to foreign armed forces and to U.S. and foreign civilians who were recommended for meritorious participation in the Berlin Airlift.

This decoration was authorized in July 1949.
